Choosing and Construction of Structure for a Pond Farm in Prawn Culture

Size of Pond Selection in Prawn Culture

The size of ponds is based on the spreads and what type of ponds and according to this we have to make a pond.

It is enough that if the nursery pond is small.  In natural water spreads the saved juveniles and artificial method of breeding juveniles we should grow them into the big pond we have some stock to leave some days for the ponds is called nursery.  This pond should not be in more depth half meter depth is enough. This length and breadth method 12x14 meter is enough.

 Each growing ponds should not be less than 0.5m to 1.0hectares depth.  Commonly, it stated that the growth of prawns we need a depth pond.  Compared to fish, prawns are small.  But during summer season particularly in our country the heat is more so, the ponds get hot and cause of this prawns leads to death to avoid this we need depth in ponds.  In depth ponds if the heat gets more in upper base level at that time in pond base the heat will be less.  Because of this, prawns won’t get damage and stated to growth.  Though, increasing the water level depth it’s get increased and the oxygen in ponds will also get increased.  There is a chance of getting needed oxygen to the prawns.

How to choose pond structure in prawn culture?

Pond Construction in Prawn Culture

The prawn growing ponds should make in the shape of square.  The circle shape pond is useless.  The best way for fishing is net square shape than the lengthy square shape.  Like this kinds of pond should be less than 0.70m and more than 1.0m should be stand more than 0.50m.  In the middle of pond connected ridges should be there and in this method we should see from the ridge of the upper base level the pond depth should be maximum 1.50m.

How to make farm for prawn culture?

Regularly in a selected tract nursery, breeding ponds, production of juveniles ponds, rushing of water canal, outlets, prawns growth logistics and the food hold buildings and these things will be there is called farm.
The prawn growth for making a farm should be widely around 5 to 10hectares.  Prawn farm is close towards the brackish river, during the flood season and we have to protect around with a dam.

The height of dam should be at least one meter from the river flood of base water.  The upper level of dam height should be same.  The dam inside and outside slopes of forecasting is in the size of ratio from 1:2 to 1:4.  The soil that is used for making dam should be with the caught ability, it should obstruct the leakage of water in sideways.  In soil roots, tree sticks and stem should be avoided.  If it is available it will create damage to the dam.

Like this kinds of building dam should not broken easily.

In the outer slope of dam we can fit granite stone and make it ensure.  In Japan country inside part of the dam they are using asbestos sheets and making them strong.  In country of Taiwan the inside part of dam they are using brick.  We can use which will be low in cost and strong that should be used.  The outside part of the dam should built by using “mangrove” trees.

Selection of Growth Place for Prawn Culture

Selecting the best place for growing prawns is stupendously important.  If we didn’t select the correct place for growing the profit does not make so good.  If we grow up the quality prawns, enough fertilizer and in natural food we didn’t get the consequence.  Therefore, we must concentrate on selecting the place.
Extending the growth place, their structure, the greatness of soil and then the ability of water will be researched uniformly, according to the basic we have to select the growing place.  If we are irresponsible, we didn’t concentrate much, and don’t know about the basic knowledge it will be vanished. If the situation has not to come we have to select the place as mentioned below.

 LAND TIDE

SOIL FERTILITY
There is a connection between the soil fertility and the standing of upper level water and there is a connection between breeding species growth too.  Though we have to know about that is more important.  If the organic matter should be well good in base of seaweed that continued with micro organism and that should be exceed more, because of this the nitrogen should be stabilized.  The pH and carbon in soil is important to the production and malnourished.  Moreover, the soil should be in ability of catching and to see that the water leakage should not happen and the water should be stabilized the mixed of clay place should be preferable.  Particularly the base of weight in land should be in the ratio 8-15, clay in the ratio of 60-80 and the sand in the ratio 12-25 and silt is good for prawn growth.
